Hi Everybody! I really wanted to make it for this very special weekend and even though I didn’t graduate with you all, I still feel a part of TMR, from my years at Algonquin through my fun-filled times at Mount Royal.  I still remember those “insightful” lunches at the “rec”, including hot dogs to die for and a bushel of frites.  Had I only known there was a cafeteria! Also, I remember many friends, especially my dear friend Judy Tarshis, who has encouraged me to attend.  Unfortunately, circumstances have gotten in the way and I will miss the fun but not the memories. So, cheers to you all!  Gina Giambra

I decided to get up to Montreal for the 50th. I will be at the Saturday event and at the visit to the former MRHS location on Sunday morning. My wife won't be able to join; since, she'll be attending her 40th HS reunion back in the States. Please sign me up for these events.

Hi gang - I have lots of memories from the days at MRHS; skating around the track in the bitter cold winters, meeting weird peope on the footbridge en route to early morning music practises, getting my earlobe reamed on during my 4 years of latin studies, bouncing on the trampoline with spotters all around me keeping me safe in gym class! I really enjoyed those marvellous exchange trips to New York and Boston and the music we played and sang! It was all good! Looking forward to being in Montreal again and catching up with you all. We were SOME lucky I think!

MRHS has been a major part of my life. I was a student back in the 50's and a teacher from '65-'85 and it has given me memories to last a lifetime. I am still teaching (will be going into my 54th year) and when kids ask why, I say "I am trying to recapture the magic I experienced at MRHS" but so far lightning hasn't struck twice. Always love meeting my former students and recapturing those special moments as well as teaching the children of many of my former students. Will never forget the look on the teachers' faces when I was introduced in the staff room in '65 as the new staff member and their comments, "what is this profession come to" (they  remembered me as that very bad student who was kicked out of their school in '57). Looking forward to the reunion.

I agree Alan. In my case, it was Mr. Marcus and Mrs. Huntley for Latin, Doc Jones for Music, and of course, our guests in September, Steve and Joe, for Math. Fantastic teachers all.

We were blessed with outstanding teachers. Mr. Dempster (for Chemistry and Physics) was among the most influential to me. I earned my BSc in Chemistry and my PhD in Physics. I would love to see Mr Dempster again.

I still remember the passing of Randy Wallace during our Freshman year. If I recall properly, he was killed while on a bike.

Hello, Class of '68. I wish you the very best for a fun reunion and would like to tag along as you prepare for the gathering. I did that last year for the "67ers and enjoyed learning about some of the students I knew back then. Since I left TMR and went to California with my TMR bride, Jill Foote, I taught Jr. high school and she studied for her B Phys Ed at Cal State College in Long Beach. After 3 years and being drafted!, we returned to Montreal where I taught Science and Math at Westmount HS and coached hockey and football.While in the States I researched their Jr. College system for my Masters at McGill. I focused on their Student Services administration and became one of the first people to help Quebec build its CEGEP system. By that time we had 4 children, 3 girls and one boy and Dawson College hired me first as an annimator and then as the Director of Student Services. After 10 years at Dawson we moved to BC. where I became the Dean of Continuing Education at the College of New Caledonia in Prince George. After 2 exciting years looking after 4 growing children and a territory one fifth the province we accepted a job here in Ottawa at Algonquin College as Dean of Continuing Education. That grew to a fulfilling career with a wide range of responsibilities and opportunity. After eighteen years, the kids all grown up and finished university, I was a V.P. of one of the largest colleges in Ontario, the mortgage paid, I decided to retire. That was 2000. Since then I have become a writer, (Google me), golfer, gardener, dog walker and "Popa" to 10 grandchildren, one of whom just announced his intention to marry his sweetheart in August. Life has been full, exciting and wonderful. We've been blessed. Happy Reunion!

Hi survivors;
I was the guy kept behind twice by the system, and once passed through on compassion.Then went on to become a HS teacher for 22years, and emphasized compassion for student abilities and capacities. What a difference that made, and enabled me to thrive on the joy of teaching. Its a different world now and life cycles have put us all through life as graduates, whether we like it or not. Our kudos are hopefully, wisdom, love and compassion, not withstanding our children.
Cheers
ps starting substituting soon, in American system no less.

Hard to believe it's been almost 50 years. I was pretty clueless back at MRHS. I hope I have matured since then, and that my schedule will allow me to attend the reunion. I hope to bring my wife Tammy Matte, an American of French heritage (but a non-French speaker). She's truly my better half - social worker, right-brained, outgoing. Thanks to the event organisers.

I am really looking forward to seeing everyone again.  It is going to be a fun time with lots of opportunities to hang out with old and new friends!  I am amazed at how much fun it has been so far hearing from people and learning about all that has been happening with them over the years.  It has been 50 years for many of us since we have been in touch.  Come and join us and make some new memories!
